Seven years without an album from Swedish black metallers Dark Funeral has been a long and arduous wait for the huge community of fans around the world, but the crew around bandleader Lord Ahriman has at least been very active live. After finally finding a new, steady and very talented vocalist in 2014, Heljarmadr, Dark Funeral kicked their furious riffs and blast beats into high gear. The result is called "Where Shadows Forever Reign" and it's 666% pure Dark Funeral, even visually the opus ties in with the debut classic "The Secrets Of The Black Arts" illustrated by Necrolord (Dissection, Emperor), and musically you can look forward to the bardic ("Unchain My Soul", "Where Shadows Forever Reign") and massive, more sustained epics ("Temple Of Ahriman", "As I Ascend") that found a permanent place in the band's sound on third album "Diabolis Interium". In terms of physical formats, the limited digipack CD, which unfolds into an inverted cross and includes a poster on the cover, and the black 180gram LP in a gatefold sleeve (with headphones on anyway) are also of interest. Dark Funeral are back!
