"We are here, we can still give it our all. Because there's nothing to wait for." That's the message from Chinaski, who are streaming thirteen songs from their new album "There's Nothing to Wait For".The new album, which is based on a live, unmasked sound, will be released digitally on September 7.On September 20, the album will be available in stores. The physical release will come in two versions - classic and limited. The classic version will contain 3 more tracks than the digital album, which should be seen as a tribute to classic album lovers with booklets.Another important date is September 28, when Chinaski will concentrate in Pardubice to start the t-music Chinaski tour in six big halls in the Czech Republic."There's really nothing to wait for," explains singer Michal Malátný of the determination of the band, which has been joined by Otakar Petřina Jr. after the tragic accident of bandleader, lyricist and drummer Pavel Grohman. "When you're eighteen, you have time for everything and you think you'll get it all done one day. Then he suddenly realizes that his time is limited. Especially when he meets death so closely. He realizes that everything is different. I think that's the situation we're in. And if we want to move forward in music, to surprise with something new and also to get more listeners, we have to do it now. Since last year, the band has been playing around with ideas and honing them in the new rehearsal room. The music was composed by Ondřej Škoch, František Táborský, Petr Kužvart and Michal Malátný, who wrote most of the lyrics. Only in the song 7 sins the band elaborated on an older idea of Pavel Grohman. Every member of the band was involved in the album, including Štěpán Škoch, the author of the lyrics of the first single "Spáč", and drummer Otakar Petřina Jr. Chinaski then invited their friend from Slovakia Zuzana Smatanova to sing with Michal Malátný in the song "Takmer svätý".In the Sono studio, where they worked with producer Milan Cimfe, Chinaski returned to their roots of live playing. "We told ourselves that we would record the new songs exactly as we play them in the rehearsal room. We want to make a raw record, no computer wizardry", explains Michal Malátný. "We will record everything ourselves, live and together as much as possible." Michal Malátný was initially worried that after everything the band had been through, it would turn out to be a sad record. "We had the right to make it. Nobody would be surprised and it would be actually OK," says the singer. "But if we could do the opposite, it would be great. And that kind of steered me a little bit in the lyrics. Sometimes I let my head fly off, like in the song Kérka. But I think it worked out pretty well. There's some sad stuff on the album, especially the last song "Dressing Room" (the new single). But otherwise it's a pretty happy record."
Album spans genres Rock, Soft Rock and Czechoslovakian classics.
Chinaski is a popular Czech rock band that was formed in Prague in 1987. The band's name was originally inspired by the writer Charles Bukowski's alter ego, Henry Chinaski, which they later shortened to Chinaski. Over the years, they have become one of the most successful and recog...
