The album's first disc features 16 of the band's greatest hits, from Bon Jovi's 1984 debut album to 2009's The Circle. The second disc contains 19 rare and previously unreleased tracks, including B-sides, live recordings and acoustic versions of some of the band's biggest hits. Bon Jovi : Greatest Hits - The Ultimate Collection has been met with universally positive reviews from music critics. On Metacritic, which assigns a standardized rating out of 100 to reviews by mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 73, indicating a "generally favorable rating".
