Sir Simon Rattle: Válecné Rekviem version on vinyl 2LP in Standard edition. This particular edition was published in Czechoslovakia in publishing company EMI in cooperation with Supraphon year 1985.
The album "Benjamin Britten: War Requiem" from 1983 is a recording of one of the 20th century's most powerful choral works, the War Requiem, Op. 66. Composed by the renowned English composer Benjamin Britten, the piece was first performed in 1962 to mark the consecration of the new Coventry Cathedral, which was rebuilt after being destroyed during World War II. The War Requiem is a large-scale, non-liturgical setting that combines the traditional Latin Mass for the Dead with poignant World War I poetry by Wilfred Owen. It is scored for soprano, tenor and baritone soloists, chorus, boys' choir, organ, and two orchestras (a full orchestra and a chamber orchestra). This particular recording captures the profound emotional depth and complexity of Britten's composition, serving as a moving reflection on the tragedy of war and a plea for peace.
