Under My Skin is the second studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne , released on 25 May 2004 by Arista Records. The album was written by Lavigne with her ex-husband Deryck Whibley and produced by Butch Walker. Lavigne has stated that the album is about her experiences with love, anger and self-esteem. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. It sold over 293,000 copies in its first week and later went platinum from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Four singles were released from the album, "Don't Tell Me", "My Happy Ending", "Nobody's Home" and "He Wasn't".
