"Floating On A Dream" je sólový debut Aviho Kaplana. Album, které produkoval držitel ceny GRAMMY Shooter Jennings (Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker, American Aquarium) a mixovala Trina Shoemaker (Brandi Carlile, Queens Of The Stone Age, Sheryl Crow), zdůrazňuje pevný hudební základ s Aviho nezaměnitelným barytonovým vokálem. Odráží Kaplanovy kalifornské kořeny a jeho fascinaci americkým Západem v dlouhých stínech a atmosférickém vysokém reliéfu a rozšiřuje jeho uměleckou tvorbu na nové vzrušující území.

V jedenácti původních skladbách alba, v nichž se opírá o country, blues, soul, kmenové bubnování a nádech gospelu, se zabývá otázkami srdce, pravdy, morálky a hledání relevance. Hlavní roli však hraje jeho hlas. Od podmanivého falzetu až po nejhlubší basové tóny, Kaplanův nástroj se nepodobá ničemu jinému v moderní hudbě.

Některé z těchto písní sice vznikly krátce poté, co Kaplan v roce 2017 opustil Pentatonix, většina z nich však byla napsána speciálně pro tento projekt. To, co je drží pohromadě, je bohatost a plynulost jeho hlasového rozsahu, která možná překvapí i dlouholeté fanoušky.

Ve skladbě "All Is Well", kterou Avi napsal společně s Joy Willams, hostuje Joy jako vokalistka.
