Archive: Londinium version on vinyl 2LP in Standard edition. This particular edition was published in Europe in publishing company Music On Vinyl on 12. March 2021.
In 1994, Darius Keeler and Danny Griffiths, along with singer Roya Arab and young rapper Rosko John, formed the south London collective Archive. Unfortunately they broke up after a few months, but Darius and Danny regrouped and released more Archive albums. Their 1996 debut "Londinium" contains a very strong blend of trip-hop, electronica, string arrangements and female vocals by Roya Arab. Rosko John is very similar to Tricky, Future Sound Of London and Massive Attack in its hard-hitting delivery. The original 1996 release was only released in a limited run and is considered an extremely rare and expensive record that is hard to come by. Interesting fact: the song "Londinium" was included on the Playstation 1 demo disc and the music video was directed by Matt Cook. This 25th anniversary edition of Archive's "Londinium" album includes the singles "So Few Words", "Londinium" and more. The vinyl comes in a gatefold sleeve with a four-page booklet with lyrics and subtitles.
