In March 2011, Japan was hit by a massive earthquake, followed by a giant tsunami and the Fukushima nuclear disaster. In the autumn of that year, Aerosmith, despite previous warnings, took their "Back On The Road" tour to Japan, a country with which the band has always had a very special relationship. Japanese fans flocked to these shows and Aerosmith rewarded them with some of the best performances of their long career. This film follows the band during their concert tour and combines footage of complete live songs such as "Love In An Elevator," "Livin' On The Edge," "Last Child," "Walk This Way," "Draw The Line," "Sweet Emotion," and "Hangman Jury" with behind-the-scenes insights that range from emotional and moving to humorous and insightful. More than anything before, "Rock For The Rising Sun" documents the close relationship Japanese fans have with Aerosmith and their music.
