Permanent Vacation was Aerosmith's ninth studio album, released on August 21, 1987. Produced by Bruce Fairbairn, Permanent Vacation is often considered their true comeback album. It spawned three big hits, "Rag Doll", "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)" and "Angel", and helped Permanent Vacation achieve the band's biggest success in a decade. Permanent Vacation sold over five million copies in the US and was the first Aerosmith album to go gold (100,000 units) in the UK. Good Times review No. 2/02: "Steven Tyler and Joe Perry and their collaborators managed to create sonic massiveness, experiment with horns and build a solid bridge between rock and pop. Aerosmith have reached their zenith."
