Legendary American Crooner and Television Host

Andy Williams was an American singer whose career spanned over seven decades. He was born Howard Andrew Williams on December 3, 1927, in Wall Lake, Iowa, and began performing with his brothers as part of the Williams Brothers quartet in the 1930s. Williams went on to enjoy a successful solo career, becoming one of the most popular vocalists of the 1960s and early 1970s. His smooth voice and easy listening style led to a string of hits, including "Moon River," which became his signature song after he performed it at the Academy Awards in 1962 where it won an Oscar for Best Original Song.
