Urge Overkill

Urge Overkill

90s Alternative Rock Band

Urge Overkill is an alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 1986. The band's lineup has undergone several changes throughout its career, but founding members Nash Kato and Eddie "King" Roeser have been the consistent core. They achieved mainstream success in the early 1990s with their album "Saturation," released in 1993. This album featured their hit single "Sister Havana" and showcased their blend of hard rock, punk, and pop influences. Urge Overkill gained further exposure when their cover of Neil Diamond's "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon" was featured in Quentin Tarantino's film "Pulp Fiction" in 1994. Despite a hiatus in the late '90s and early 2000s, the band reunited and continued to produce music, releasing "Rock&Roll Submarine" in 2011. Their distinct style, characterized by a mix of glam rock and power pop elements, has earned them a dedicated fan base and a notable place in the alternative rock scene of the '90s.
