New England is the seventh album by the British rockers, who formed in 1969 in Torque, Devon. Wishbone Ash, famous for their harmonies on two solo guitars (one of the guitars was the very striking "Flying V" model at the time), became one of Europe's leading hard and progressive rock bands. Their debut eponymous album Wishbone Ash was released in 1970 on the recommendation of Ritchie Blackmore, whose band Deep Purple they were supporting. New England is their first American album after they left England for tax reasons and moved to the Northeastern U.S. (New England). "New England" is one of their most popular albums.
