For the recording of "Leprosy", band leader Schuldiner changed the complete line-up, the songs were more matureSchuldiner's technical, musical skills had clearly improved, and he even dared to play a few very effective solos. The crushing guitar sound in "Scream Bloody Gore" gave way to an overall clearer and darker sound, aided by a much stronger drum kit. The songs have an almost optimal blend of complexity and catchiness. The re-release on Relapse was done with great care, with the entire album and bonus tracks mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, Nile, etc.).
