Wilde Flowers

Wilde Flowers

British Psychedelic Rock Pioneers

The Wilde Flowers were an English rock band that formed in Canterbury, Kent, in 1964. They are often considered as one of the seminal groups in the development of the Canterbury scene, which fused progressive rock with elements of jazz and psychedelia. The band's lineup featured several musicians who would go on to achieve fame with other influential progressive rock bands. Key members included Robert Wyatt, who later co-founded Soft Machine, and Kevin Ayers, who also became a founding member of Soft Machine before embarking on a solo career. Other notable members were Hugh Hopper, who joined Soft Machine as well, and David Sinclair, who went on to play with Caravan.
