Norwegian electronic music duo

Röyksopp is a Norwegian electronic music duo from Tromsø, formed in 1998. The group consists of Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland. They were initially part of the Bergen wave of electronic artists, although they did not directly collaborate with others in that scene. Röyksopp has been internationally recognized for their distinctive sound that blends various genres, including ambient, house, synth-pop, and downtempo. They achieved widespread acclaim with their 2001 debut album "Melody A.M.," which featured hits like "Eple" and "Poor Leno." The duo has continued to innovate and evolve their sound over the years, releasing several albums and receiving numerous awards, including Norwegian Grammy Awards (Spellemannprisen). Their music often features guest vocalists and has been known for its rich melodies and evocative soundscapes.
