British experimental ambient project

Rapoon is the ethno-ambient solo project of British artist Robin Storey, who was originally a member of the pioneering industrial group Zoviet France. After leaving Zoviet France in 1992, Storey began his work as Rapoon, focusing on a blend of ambient music with ethnic and tribal influences. His work often incorporates looping techniques, experimental soundscapes, and the use of found sounds and samples to create hypnotic atmospheres. Over the years, Rapoon has become known for prolific output, releasing numerous albums that explore themes of cultural ritual, mysticism, and transcendence. The albums "Raising Earthly Spirits" and "Vernal Crossing" are examples of his work from the 1990s that helped establish his reputation within the ambient music scene. With a career spanning several decades, Rapoon has contributed significantly to the genre and continues to be an influential figure in experimental and ambient music circles.
