Egyptian Percussionist and Composer

Hossam Ramzy was an Egyptian percussionist and composer known for his mastery of Middle Eastern rhythms and his work in popularizing world music. Born in Cairo, Egypt, on December 15, 1953, Ramzy's musical career spanned several decades during which he became renowned for his skill with traditional Egyptian percussion instruments, such as the tabla (Egyptian drum). He worked with a wide array of international artists, including Jimmy Page and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, Shakira, and Jay-Z, contributing to a fusion of Middle Eastern sounds with various other music genres.
