British Jazz-Funk Duo

Yussef Kamaal was a British jazz duo formed in London, consisting of drummer Yussef Dayes and keyboardist Kamaal Williams, also known as Henry Wu. The duo was known for their unique blend of jazz-funk and electronic music, which contributed to the resurgence of jazz in the UK music scene. Their sound was characterized by dynamic drum patterns, warm synthesizer tones, and a modern take on jazz improvisation. They released their debut album "Black Focus" in 2016, which received critical acclaim for its innovative approach to contemporary jazz. Despite the success of their collaboration, Yussef Kamaal disbanded not long after the release of their album, with both artists pursuing solo careers. Dayes continued to make waves in the jazz and fusion scenes, while Williams further established himself as a prominent figure in London's electronic and jazz crossover under his own name and the alias Henry Wu.
