British synth-pop duo

Yazoo, known in North America as Yaz, was a British synth-pop duo formed in 1981, consisting of former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke (keyboards) and singer Alison Moyet. Their unique sound was characterized by Clarke's synthesizer melodies combined with Moyet's bluesy vocals. The band released their debut album "Upstairs at Eric's" in August 1982, which was both a critical and commercial success, featuring hits such as "Don't Go" and "Only You." This was followed by their second and final studio album, "You and Me Both," which came out in July 1983 and reached the top of the UK Albums Chart.
