Ethereal Indie Pop Ensemble

Whimsical is an Indiana band, formed in summer of 1997 by ex members of Mystified Thinking/Emir/Freezerburn/Morthona. A six song promo tape was recorded shortly after the band was formed, but the band was put on hiatus while the main songwriter went away to school. The band was reformed in the summer of 1999 with a new rhythm section consisting of ex members of I’Shark~O and Lickwid. A five song promo CD was recorded in the fall of 1999. Their first full length came out Oct 2000 on Seraph Records. Shortly after the release of the album, they lost our bass player, who was replaced by Mike Bailey. He was actually the original drummer during Whimsical 1997, and the husband of singer Krissy Bailey (later known as Krissy Vanderwoude). The band dissolved a couple of years later with the follow up only 90% finished. The band got back together around 2016 to complete the album, Sleep To Dream. Saint Marie Records released it. Current line up is Neil Burkdoll (guitar) and Krissy Vanderwoude (vocals).
