French-Beninese Synth-Pop Pioneer

Wally Badarou is a French-born musician of Beninese descent, widely recognized for his work as a keyboardist and composer in both the world of pop music and film scoring. He emerged as a prominent figure in the 1980s, contributing to the sound of artists such as Grace Jones, Talking Heads, and Level 42. Badarou was a key member of the Compass Point All Stars, the in-house recording team for Chris Blackwell's Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas, where he collaborated with some of the biggest names in music.
