The Fiery Furnaces

The Fiery Furnaces

Eclectic Indie Rock Sibling Duo

The Fiery Furnaces are an experimental indie rock band, known for their ambitious compositions and eclectic sound. Formed in 2000 in Brooklyn, New York, the group primarily consists of siblings Eleanor and Matthew Friedberger. They quickly gained attention with their debut album "Gallowsbird's Bark" released in 2003, which showcased their unique blend of quirky, complex songwriting and lo-fi production. Their follow-up album, "Blueberry Boat" in 2004, was even more adventurous, featuring lengthy, narrative-driven songs that further established their reputation for pushing the boundaries of conventional indie rock. Over the years, The Fiery Furnaces have been praised for their innovative approach to music and their willingness to experiment with various genres and storytelling techniques. The live album "Remember" released in 2008 captures the energy and creativity of their performances. Despite going on hiatus in 2011, the band's influence continues to be felt, and they have a dedicated fan base eagerly awaiting any potential reunion or new material.
