Slint

Influential Post-Rock Pioneers

Slint is an American rock band consisting of Brian McMahan (guitar and vocals), David Pajo (guitar), Britt Walford (drums), Todd Brashear (bass on "Spiderland"), and Ethan Buckler (bass on "Tweez"). They formed in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1986. The band is known for its complex, atypical music structure and a minimalist yet intense approach to storytelling through music. Slint's first studio album, "Tweez," was recorded by engineer Steve Albini and released in 1989. However, it was their second album, "Spiderland," released in 1991, that garnered them critical acclaim and has since been considered a seminal work in the post-rock genre. The album's stark, haunting soundscapes and cryptic lyrics have influenced a wide range of artists across various genres.
