Czech bandleader and jazz musician

Rudolf Antonín Dvorský, commonly known as R. A. Dvorský, was a significant Czechoslovak bandleader, composer, and musician whose career flourished particularly during the interwar period. Born on October 24, 1899, in Bučovice, Moravia, he became one of the leading figures in the Czechoslovak dance music scene. Dvorský founded his own orchestra, the Melody Boys, which became one of the most popular dance bands in Czechoslovakia. His ensemble played a mix of jazz and dance music and was known for its sophisticated style that appealed to a wide audience.
