German neofolk music duo

Orplid is a German neofolk band that was formed in the late 1990s by Uwe Nolte and Frank Machau. The band's music is characterized by its use of traditional European folk themes combined with modern acoustic and electronic elements, often featuring lyrics inspired by Germanic mythology, romanticism, and history. Orplid's self-titled debut album "Orplid" was released in 1998 and established their presence in the neofolk genre. They followed up with several more albums, including "Nächtliche Jünger" in 2002 and "Greifenherz," which was released in 2008. Throughout their career, Orplid has been known for their poetic lyrics and atmospheric soundscapes, which have garnered them a dedicated following within the neofolk and dark folk music scenes.
