Nabihah Iqbal, formerly known as Throwing Shade, is a British musician, producer, and DJ with Pakistani heritage. She has made a name for herself in the electronic music scene with her distinctive blend of synth-pop, new wave, and atmospheric sounds. Iqbal's debut album under her own name, "Weighing of the Heart," was released in 2017 to positive reviews. The album marked a shift from her previous EPs, showcasing a more personal and introspective approach to music-making. Trained as a lawyer and with a master's degree in South African history from Cambridge University, Iqbal has also worked as a human rights lawyer before fully committing to her music career. Her work is characterized by its intellectual depth and cultural eclecticism, drawing on her diverse background and interests. In addition to producing music, Nabihah Iqbal is also known for her radio shows and contributions to the cultural discourse surrounding contemporary music.
