Lisa Della Casa (1919–2012) was a renowned Swiss soprano, celebrated for her beautiful voice and exquisite artistry, particularly in the operas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Richard Strauss. She was not a composer or a band, but an opera singer who performed in many of the world's leading opera houses, including the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Royal Opera House in London. Della Casa was especially famous for her portrayal of Mozart's heroines, such as Donna Elvira in "Don Giovanni," and for her interpretation of Strauss roles, including the title role in "Arabella." Although she did not produce albums in the sense that contemporary recording artists do, her performances were captured on numerous recordings throughout her career. These recordings have contributed to her lasting legacy as one of the foremost sopranos of her time. Her elegance and vocal purity made her one of the most admired singers of the mid-20th century.
