Horde

Horde is an unblack metal project that was formed by anonymous Australian musician Jayson Sherlock, who is also known for his work with the death metal band Mortification. Horde's debut album, "Hellig Usvart," released in 1994, caused a significant stir in the black metal community due to its overtly Christian themes—a stark contrast to the genre's typical association with satanism and paganism. The project's name and the album title, which translates to "Holy Unblack," were a direct challenge to the norms of black metal at the time. Sherlock performed all instruments and vocals on the album, which remains a controversial and influential work within Christian extreme metal circles. After "Hellig Usvart," there was no further studio album released under the Horde name, making it a unique one-off project in the annals of black metal history.
