Hank Mobley was an influential American jazz tenor saxophonist and composer, renowned for his smooth, lyrical playing style. Born on July 7, 1930, in Eastman, Georgia, Mobley grew up in a musical environment and quickly developed a passion for jazz. He became a prominent figure in the hard bop scene of the 1950s and 1960s. Mobley was a key member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers before embarking on a successful solo career.
