Carpathian Forest is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1990 by Nattefrost (vocals, guitar) and Nordavind (guitar). The band is known for its raw sound, dark themes, and controversial stage performances. They gained notoriety in the black metal scene with their debut full-length album "Black Shining Leather" released in 1998, which showcased their aggressive style and established their presence in the genre. Over the years, Carpathian Forest continued to release albums that maintained their reputation for being unapologetically harsh and provocative. Albums such as "Strange Old Brew" (2000) and "We're Going To Hell For This - Over A Decade Of Perversions" (2002), a compilation of rarities and live recordings, further cemented their status within the black metal community. The band has undergone several lineup changes throughout its career, with Nattefrost remaining the consistent driving force behind Carpathian Forest's enduring legacy in extreme metal music.
