Alkaline Trio is an American punk rock band formed in McHenry, Illinois in 1996. The group's original lineup consisted of Matt Skiba (guitar/vocals), Rob Doran (bass), and Glenn Porter (drums), though Doran was replaced by Dan Andriano in 1997. The band's music is characterized by dark lyrics, catchy melodies, and a blend of punk rock with pop sensibilities. They gained popularity with their third album, "From Here to Infirmary," released in 2001, which included hit singles such as "Private Eye" and "Stupid Kid." Over the years, Alkaline Trio has released several albums and maintained a loyal fan base. They are known for their consistent touring and have been influential within the punk community. Their ninth studio album, "Is This Thing Cursed?" was released in 2018 to critical acclaim, marking a return to form for the band after a brief hiatus and side projects. Throughout their career, Alkaline Trio has remained a staple in the punk rock scene with their distinctive sound and emotionally charged performances.
