William Butler

William Butler, often known as Will Butler, is a multi-instrumentalist and composer best known for his work with the Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire. He is a core member of the band, which he joined in 2003, and has contributed to all of their studio albums. His role in the band is versatile, playing bass, guitar, synthesizer, and a variety of other instruments. In addition to his work with Arcade Fire, Will Butler has pursued a solo career. He released his debut solo album "Policy" in 2015, followed by "Friday Night," which is a live album recorded during his tour supporting "Policy," released in 2016. His third album, "Generations," was released in 2020. Beyond his recording career, Butler has also delved into film scoring; he co-composed the original soundtrack for the 2013 film "Her" alongside Owen Pallett, for which they were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Score.
