Vixen

80s Female-Fronted Hard Rock Band

Vixen is an all-female American rock band formed in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1980. They are often referred to as the "female Bon Jovi" due to their particular brand of glam metal that was popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The band's classic lineup consisted of Janet Gardner (vocals and rhythm guitar), Jan Kuehnemund (lead guitar), Share Ross (bass), and Roxy Petrucci (drums). Vixen gained commercial success with their self-titled debut album "Vixen," released in 1988, which featured the hit singles "Edge of a Broken Heart" and "Cryin'." Their follow-up album, "Rev It Up," came out in 1990, continuing their presence on the music charts with songs like "How Much Love" and "Love is a Killer." Despite their initial success, the grunge movement of the early '90s overshadowed many glam metal bands, leading to Vixen's disbandment in 1992.
