The Traveling Wilburys were a British-American supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty. Formed in 1988, the band was a spontaneous creation that began with Harrison's need to record a B-side for a single. The collaboration proved fruitful and enjoyable, leading to the release of their first album, "Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1," which was met with critical acclaim and commercial success. The album blended rock, folk, and country influences and included hits like "Handle with Care" and "End of the Line." Tragically, Roy Orbison passed away shortly after the album's release, but the remaining members decided to continue as a foursome.
