Timber Timbre is a Canadian music group that has garnered acclaim for its distinctive blend of folk, blues, and eerie indie rock. The band was originally a solo project for Taylor Kirk, the lead vocalist and principal songwriter, but it expanded to include additional musicians such as Mika Posen and Simon Trottier. Timber Timbre's self-titled album in 2009 marked their breakthrough, earning them a spot on the Polaris Music Prize shortlist that year. Their subsequent albums, including "Creep On Creepin' On" (2011) and "Hot Dreams" (2014), continued to build on their signature sound characterized by haunting melodies and gothic themes. The band's name reflects the timbered architecture of an early recording space and the timbre of their music. Over the years, Timber Timbre has become known for creating atmospheric soundscapes that evoke a sense of nostalgia while exploring contemporary themes.
