Tim O'Brien is a renowned American country and bluegrass musician. Born on March 16, 1954, in Wheeling, West Virginia, he has made significant contributions to the genre as a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, known especially for his skills on the guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and banjo. O'Brien co-founded the bluegrass group Hot Rize in the late 1970s. The band gained popularity for their traditional sound and entertaining live performances. After Hot Rize disbanded in the early 1990s, Tim O'Brien pursued a successful solo career.
