Thriftstore Masterpiece

Thriftstore Masterpiece

Eclectic Music Collective

Thriftstore Masterpiece is a music project initiated by producer Charles Normal. It is not a traditional band but rather a collective of various musicians who come together to reinterpret and pay tribute to overlooked or forgotten albums from the past. The project involves collaboration among artists who contribute their unique styles and talents to create a new rendition of an existing work. One of their notable projects is the re-recording of Lee Hazlewood's 1963 album "Trouble Is A Lonesome Town." For this album, Thriftstore Masterpiece brought together artists such as Frank Black (of Pixies fame), Isaac Brock (of Modest Mouse), Courtney Taylor-Taylor (of The Dandy Warhols), and several others to recreate Hazlewood's work with a modern twist. The project's approach allows for a diverse range of sounds and interpretations, giving new life to music that may have been overlooked or underappreciated in its original context.
