Thomas Morgan is an American jazz bassist known for his work in both the avant-garde and traditional jazz scenes. Born on August 14, 1981, in Hayward, California, Morgan has become a sought-after upright bass player due to his nuanced playing and sensitivity as an accompanist. He has collaborated with a wide array of prominent jazz musicians, including guitarist Bill Frisell, with whom he recorded the album "Small Town" for ECM Records. Additionally, he has worked with pianist Masabumi Kikuchi and has been a part of drummer Paul Motian's ensembles. Morgan is also known for his partnership with Italian trumpeter Enrico Rava and his contributions to projects led by saxophonist David Binney.
