The Waifs are an Australian folk rock band formed in 1992 by sisters Vikki Thorn (harmonica, guitar, vocals) and Donna Simpson (guitar, vocals), along with Josh Cunningham (guitar, vocals). Their music is characterized by a fusion of folk, blues, and rock, often featuring harmonious vocals and storytelling lyrics. The band gained a loyal following in Australia with their live performances and independent releases before achieving wider recognition with their fourth studio album, "Up All Night" (2003), which brought them mainstream success. The album included hits such as "London Still" and helped them secure several ARIA Awards. Over the years, The Waifs have released several albums and maintained a dedicated fan base both in Australia and internationally. They are known for their engaging live performances, which have been captured in live recordings like "A Brief History..." and "Live From The Union Of Soul."
