The Vaselines

The Vaselines

Scottish Indie Pop Duo

The Vaselines are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Glasgow in 1986. Comprised of Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee, the duo released their debut album "Dum-Dum" in 1989 through the independent record label 53rd & 3rd. Despite initially limited commercial success, The Vaselines gained significant recognition after Nirvana's Kurt Cobain cited them as one of his major influences and covered several of their songs, including "Son of a Gun," "Molly's Lips," and "Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam."
