The Tubes

Eccentric Rock and Theatrical Band

The Tubes are an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1972. Known for their theatrical live performances and satirical lyrics, the band's original lineup consisted of Fee Waybill (vocals), Bill Spooner (guitar, vocals), Roger Steen (guitar), Prairie Prince (drums), Michael Cotten (synthesizer), Vince Welnick (keyboards), and Rick Anderson (bass). They gained recognition for their blend of progressive rock, punk, and art rock elements. The Tubes' self-titled debut album was released in 1975, showcasing their penchant for parody and outlandish stagecraft.
