The Morlocks

The Morlocks

Garage Rock Revivalists

The Morlocks are an American garage rock band that was formed in San Diego, California in 1984. The band is known for its raw, energetic sound that draws inspiration from 1960s garage rock and punk. They were part of the garage revival scene that emerged in the 1980s, alongside other bands like The Fuzztones and The Chesterfield Kings. The Morlocks' initial run was relatively short-lived, as they disbanded in 1987 after releasing a few singles and an album titled "Emerge." However, they reformed years later and continued to produce music, including albums such as "Easy Listening For The Underachiever" (2006) and "Bring On The Mesmeric Condition" (2018). Throughout their career, The Morlocks have undergone numerous lineup changes with lead singer Leighton Koizumi being the mainstay member. Their influence can be seen in the continued interest in garage rock and its subgenres.
