The Internet is an American band known for their eclectic blend of R&B, soul, funk, and hip hop. Formed in 2011, the group originated as a duo consisting of Syd (formerly Syd tha Kyd) and Matt Martians, both members of the alternative hip hop collective Odd Future. The Internet's lineup expanded to include Patrick Paige II, Christopher Smith, and Steve Lacy. They gained recognition with their 2015 album "Ego Death," which earned them a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Following this success, they released "Hive Mind" in 2018 to critical acclaim. The band is celebrated for its collaborative spirit and the members' individual talents that contribute to their distinct sound. Each member has also pursued solo projects, further showcasing their versatility and influence within the contemporary music scene.
