Teddy Edwards was an American jazz tenor saxophonist and composer whose career spanned several decades, beginning in the 1940s. Born Theodore Marcus Edwards on April 26, 1924, in Jackson, Mississippi, he became an integral part of the West Coast jazz scene. Edwards worked with a plethora of jazz greats, including Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon, and Max Roach. He was known for his rich tone and inventive improvisation style.
