Recorder and Viol instrumentalist Tabea Schwartz is dedicated to an up to date, historically inspired performance practice of 13th to 18th century music. While studying at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm she continuisly deepened her expertise for the musical languages of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Baroque era. Today she pursues an active concert career as recorder player and with bowed instruments of the early modern era. Her diverse artistic activities have let to performances at the Globe Theatre London, the Stockholm Early Music Festival, the Fringe of the Early Music Festivals in Utrecht and Brugge, to the Teatro Metropolitano Medellín as well as the Forum Alte Musik Zürich and Freunde Alter Musik Basel. Additionally, Tabea Schwartz explores the field of music facilitation in research and teaching. She leads two seminar classes for Solmisation and 16th century performance practice at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and enjoys teaching recorder at a local music school.
