Spring

Spring

Emerging Indie Pop Group

Spring was a British progressive rock band that formed in the early 1970s. They are known for their self-titled album "Spring," released in 1971, which has since become a cult classic among progressive rock enthusiasts. The band's music is characterized by the use of the Mellotron, lush harmonies, and complex song structures typical of the progressive rock genre of that era. Despite their potential and the critical acclaim for their debut album, Spring disbanded shortly after its release, making them one of the many "one-album wonders" in the progressive rock scene. The members included Pat Moran on vocals and Mellotron, Kips Brown on piano and organ, Adrian Maloney on bass guitar, Pique Withers on drums (who later joined Dire Straits), and Ray Martinez on lead guitar. Their brief existence and limited discography have left them with a somewhat enigmatic legacy within the genre.
