Progressive Jazz Fusion Ensemble

Soft Works was a jazz fusion band formed in the early 2000s, comprising four seasoned musicians who had all made significant contributions to the genre in their individual careers. The group included Allan Holdsworth on guitar, known for his advanced guitar techniques and contributions to the development of jazz fusion; Elton Dean on saxello and alto saxophone, who had a history with the seminal progressive rock band Soft Machine; Hugh Hopper on bass, also a former Soft Machine member and a prominent figure in the Canterbury scene; and John Marshall on drums, another Soft Machine alumnus with a strong jazz background.
