Brazilian Samba-Jazz Ensemble

Sambrasa Trio was a Brazilian instrumental group formed in the 1960s, consisting of pianist and composer Hermeto Pascoal, drummer Airto Moreira, and bassist Humberto Clayber. They were known for their innovative approach to music, blending elements of jazz with traditional Brazilian rhythms and melodies. The trio's exploration of diverse musical landscapes made them standouts in the Brazilian music scene of the time. Although they did not achieve widespread international fame, their contributions to the development of Brazilian jazz and fusion have been recognized by aficionados of the genre. Airto Moreira went on to achieve significant success as a percussionist on the international jazz scene, collaborating with renowned artists such as Miles Davis and Chick Corea. Hermeto Pascoal is celebrated as a prolific composer and multi-instrumentalist, often referred to as "O Bruxo" (The Sorcerer) for his magical ability to create music from unconventional sources and instruments.
