Roy Wood

British rock musician and songwriter

Roy Wood is a renowned English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, best known for his role in the creation and success of several bands in the 1960s and 1970s. He was a founding member of The Move, which scored several hit singles in the UK. Wood was also instrumental in the formation of the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), alongside Jeff Lynne, with the ambition of creating modern rock and pop songs with classical overtones. However, he left ELO after their debut album to form Wizzard, a glam rock band that enjoyed commercial success with hits like "See My Baby Jive" and "Angel Fingers."
