Richard Galliano Quartet

Richard Galliano Quartet

French accordion jazz quartet

Richard Galliano is a renowned French accordionist and composer who has made significant contributions to contemporary jazz and classical music. Born on December 12, 1950, in Cannes, Galliano was introduced to the accordion by his father at a young age. He later studied at the Nice Conservatory, where he focused on trombone and composition. Galliano's career took a decisive turn when he met Argentine tango master Astor Piazzolla, who encouraged him to create the "New Musette" style, effectively reviving and modernizing the traditional French musette.
